meet Sylvia, our social media and brand coordinator, who brings moochi to life behind the lens. we chat with her about shoot days, creative challenges, and how she helps our community experience moochi, online and in the world
hi, I’m Sylvia, brand and social media coordinator at moochi. born and raised in auckland, I studied fine art photography, where my love for visual communication and lens based work really took shape. my role is incredibly varied from shooting ecom imagery and social content to writing copy for our press releases, which means no two days at moochi are ever the same
working at moochi has encouraged me to come out of my shell. being on set and collaborating with the design and merchandising teams has really sharpened my eye for detail, knowing when to add and when to strip things back. I’m more confident experimenting with new silhouettes and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone when it comes to styling
how would you describe your personal style in three words?
timeless, feminine, laidback
fashion is a constant for me, it’s always part of the conversation and very much in my orbit. it’s such a universal language and allows you to express so much without saying a word. I love the contrast between a refined, chic femme look and an oversized, off duty feel. it keeps things interesting and allows me to dress intuitively, depending on my mood
auckland has such a distinct energy — does the city influence the way you dress or shop?
absolutely. auckland has such a unique energy, and I’m constantly influenced by the people around me. I’ll often spot how someone has styled a piece or played with colour in a way that I haven’t seen before and makes me want to recreate it. there’s so much inspiration to be found!
I’m a loyal ripe deli customer. the coffee, salads and cookies are all top tier. I’ve also been loving brave pizza for a cheeky friday lunchtime slice
as social media and brand coordiantor you have a lot of variety in your role, what do you love most about this balance?
I love the rhythm it brings to my day. I get to collaborate with
so many different people across the team which makes every project feel dynamic and collaborative. there’s always a lot happening, but it’s exciting, and I feel very lucky to be part of it
I love the cut cami and skirt. styled together, they’re perfect for a night out, but I also love pairing the cut cami with the recede denim pant and slant thong for an everyday look. a chic top with a relaxed, baggy jean is a combination I’ll always come back to
who are your personal style icons?
rihanna, always. and Taylor Russell, she consistently looks so refined and elevated
heels or flats?
ballet flats forever
coffee order?
oat cappucino
the last piece of clothing you bought?
the inclined short sleeve top
what are you listening to right now?
mk.gee and kali uchis
one item you couldn’t live without from your wardrobe?
the frame bias pant
morning or evening person?
morning
