tell us a little about yourself and what you do?
I’m jenene crossan, tech entrepreneur, photographer, director and lifelong builder of things. I started my first digital business at 21 (nzgirl) and have spent the past 25 years working at the intersection of technology, beauty and customer experience
my husband scottie and I also created the louise’s, our home and our guest retreat, the little louise’s, both in piha. it’s where much of our life happens: family, friends, work, big ideas and beach or bush mornings
what inspired you to create the louise’s estate?
it began with the place itself. we hadn’t been searching for a home in piha, but when we arrived here, we felt an immediate pull. the landscape comes across wild and cinematic, yet there’s an extraordinary sense of calm here
the little louise’s grew from a desire to create a beautiful, private world where people feel deeply considered, while still feeling completely at ease. it’s a delight to have guests tell us how it’s made them feel exactly as we hoped. we’re always trying to find new little details
how would you describe your personal style?
these days, it’s about off duty pieces done well: tracksuits and matching sets, elevated with something a little unexpected to keep it from feeling too polished. I lean towards wide leg pants, oversized shirts, and I’m always on the hunt for the perfect singlet
what role does fashion play in your everyday life?
it gives me a chance to think about how I want to show up in the day, be it with some boldness or creative flare. I dress less for others than I do for how I want to be perceived - what I wear can shift my energy, signal how I want to enter a room, or simply make an ordinary day feel more interesting
what draws you to moochi, and how does the brand fit into your wardrobe?
I can proudly say I’ve been a moochi fan since day one. I have been supporting the brand since it started and have followed it ever since. I’m drawn to the balance of ease and structure, and love how naturally moochi fits into my wardrobe. it can carry me through very different parts of my day
what moochi pieces do you find yourself reaching for on repeat?
the trousers, always. a really good trouser is the foundation of so much of my wardrobe, and moochi gets that balance of shape, proportion and comfort right. they can anchor almost anything - a simple knit, an oversized shirt, a jacket or something softer and more feminine. they make an outfit feel complete without looking as though I’ve tried too hard
